There are many software packages which claim to submit your site to hundreds, even thousands of search engines. The question is whether you really need to be indexed on even 90% of these engines. Many of them are region specific, some are topic specific and a great deal of them are actually powered by the primary search engines. So in summary, it is a pointless exercise.
The best way to promote your site is to get listed on the primary and secondary search engines that 90% of web users actually perform searches on. Many of these 'main' search engines no longer accept automated submissions so your software-driven promotions will be rejected and your software investment will be a waste of money.
As mentioned in previous articles, different search engines use different algorithms to determine the relevance of your web pages. You must shortlist the most important search engines and optimise your pages to appeal to as many of these engines as possible.
Think about who you trying to promote to i.e. if you are targeting UK customers there is no need to promote to google.co.jp in Japan or indeed any other overseas search engine.
